Shuttering

This project originates from an interest in routine and habits. Elements that, when maintained over time, reveal themselves as a mold for the spirit and attitude that over time reshape and trace its boundaries. Boundaries that nonetheless allow a glimpse of the formwork and the shape of the habit that has compacted and given structure to the mass.

The composition chosen within the square frame derives from metal parts recovered from various abandoned buildings, then cut into different segments and finally encapsulated.

My interest in cultivating mycelium arises from its property of absorbing form and filling every cavity and appropriating the available space. The four works presented are the result of combining the heavy, rusted iron elements, initially encapsulated within a precise form that are subsequently claimed by the mycelium.
